Prepare everything necessary. Remove the casing from the sausages. It's better to use red onion, it has a milder taste.
Slice the onion into thin fragments. Put it in a bowl, pour over with just boiled water, add vinegar, stir. Leave for 5 minutes. If you have traditional white onion, we recommend keeping it in the marinade a little longer and covering the bowl from the top so that the onion steams and the excessive bitterness goes away.
1 pc yellow onion, 2 tbsp distilled white vinegar
Cut the buns lengthwise, but not all the way through. Spread the inside with ketchup, place slices of cheese.
2 pcs hot dog bun, 2 tbsp ketchup, 50 g cheese
Heat a grill pan or regular pan well, lay out the buns and sausages. Fry over high heat, turning over. The buns just need to be warmed up, but the sausages should be browned.
2 pcs sausage
Mix mayonnaise and mustard. Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream.
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Place lettuce leaves and pickled onions in each hot dog. Be sure to drain the marinade through a sieve and shake well, excess liquid in the hot dog is unacceptable, as the bun will quickly get soggy.
2 pcs lettuce, 1 tsp mustard
Put a sausage in each. Apply mustard and tomato sauce on top. Hot dogs are ready.
