Wash the potatoes, peel them, and cut them into sticks. This can be done manually with a regular knife or using a mandoline slicer.
600 g potatoes
Put the potatoes in a deep bowl and rinse in cold water 2-3 times (the water should become clear).
Drain the washed potatoes in a colander.
Dry the potatoes with paper towels. Do this very carefully so that water does not get into the hot oil.
Fry the potatoes in small batches, stirring occasionally, in preheated sunflower oil. The oil temperature should reach 180 - 190 °C. Remember to always be careful and cautious when working with hot oil to avoid accidental burns.
500 ml vegetable oil
When the potatoes turn golden brown, remove them with a slotted spoon and transfer to paper towels.
Season the potatoes with salt to taste and serve. Ketchup and sour cream garlic sauce make great additions to this dish. Enjoy your meal!
