Prepare the ingredients. We take a medium-sized fish – 1-1.3 kg.
Rinse the cleaned and gutted pike thoroughly under running water from slime and remaining scales. Cut off the head, fins, and tail. You can make fish soup from them.

Cut the remaining carcass into large pieces 6-7 cm wide.
Then along the spine, divide each piece into two more parts. Lay out the pike in a deep bowl, salt, pepper, and leave to marinate for 20-25 minutes.

In the meantime, prepare the vegetable slicing: shred the peeled carrot into large straws.

Peel the onion head from the husk and cut into half rings.

Rinse the sweet pepper, clean it from seeds, internal partitions, and divide it into medium pieces.

Also rinse the greens, dry them, and chop them into small pieces.

Take the marinated pieces of pike with a fork and generously roll them in sifted flour.

In boiling oil in a pan, fry the fish over high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
80 g vegetable oil
Then fry the onion in oil in a pan until soft.
Add sweet pepper and carrot there as well.
Mix and cook the vegetables over medium heat for 3 minutes.
Lay the fried pike tightly on top of the vegetables.
Prepare the tomato sauce: in a bowl, whisk a pinch of salt, tomato paste with water until smooth.
25 g tomato paste, 20 g salt, 250 ml water
Pour the resulting sauce into the pan. Stew the vegetables with the fish over low heat under the lid for 10 minutes.
2 minutes before the end of cooking, sprinkle with chopped greens.
Serve the ready-made pike, stewed with vegetables in tomato sauce, separately on a serving dish or together with a side dish of pasta, buckwheat, or potatoes.
