Prepare everything you need.
For the dough, pour flour, a tablespoon of sugar, baking powder and a pinch of salt into a bowl, put pieces of cold butter (100 g).
140 g butter, 200 g flour, 150 g sugar, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 pinch salt
Quickly rub with your hands until you get a fine butter crumb.
Bring the milk to a boil, add the remaining butter, add the poppy seeds.

Stir, cover and leave for 10 minutes to allow the seeds to swell. Then add the grated apples, semolina, egg and the remaining sugar. Mix it up. The filling will be quite liquid.

The shape, we use a diameter of 17 centimeters, is lined with foil or parchment, pour out two-thirds of the dough crumbs. Press your hands against the walls, forming small sides 2-3 centimeters high.
Lay out the poppy seed filling.
Cover with the remaining dough and bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.
The poppy seed cake is ready. The base turns out crispy, and the filling is tender and juicy.
