Prepare everything necessary. It's better to place the Nutella in the refrigerator for an hour to thicken a bit. This makes it easier to work with and prevents the filling from leaking out while shaping the pie.
Roll out the dough. It is advisable to do this in one direction to maintain maximum flakiness. The thickness of the layer should be about 2 mm. Cut into two equal squares or rectangles, as it turns out. Place one on the baking sheet. With a sharp object, outline the contours of the future tree: a triangular top and a stump. Spread the Nutella.
300 g puff pastry, 50 g chocolate spread
Spread the paste in a thin layer, not going beyond the lines.
Carefully place the second part of the dough on top. Press down on the edges. Cut off the excess. You should get the shape of a Christmas tree. If desired, you can make stars or any other figures from the trimmings.
Mark the trunk in the center. And with a sharp knife, perpendicular to the trunk, cut the dough into not too thick strips.
Make several turns to create spirals.
Brush with egg. Sprinkle the trunk with sugar.
1 pc egg, 1 tbsp sugar
Transfer to the oven and bake at 170℃ for 20 minutes. The Christmas tree pie with Nutella made from puff pastry should be golden brown. When serving, add stars made from the dough, candied fruits. Eat by pulling off the 'branches'.
