A delicious, hearty and healthy chicken broccoli cheese casserole will appeal even to those who generally do not like broccoli. It turns out incredibly tender and juicy. A wonderful cheese crust and bright cherry tomato wedges make the casserole even more appetizing, and a mixture of Provencal herbs adds an incredible, bright aroma to the dish. And such a meal is very healthy for both children and adults.
Wash the broccoli head and divide it into florets.
1 head broccoli
Boil the prepared broccoli for 5 minutes in salted water.
Preparing the sauce:
While the broccoli is cooking, prepare the sauce for the casserole. In one bowl, combine eggs, cream, finely grated cheese, salt, pepper, and Provencal herbs.
100 g cheese, 2 pcs egg, ½ cup cream, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, 1 tsp Provencal herbs mix
Prepare the remaining ingredients for the casserole. Cut the chicken breast into small pieces.
1 pc chicken breast
Cut the cherry tomatoes in half. If using regular-sized tomatoes, cut them into large wedges.
6 pcs cherry tomatoes
Assemble the casserole. First, grease a heatproof dish with vegetable oil.
½ tbsp vegetable oil
Lay the chopped chicken breast in the dish as the bottom layer. If desired, it can be slightly salted and peppered.
On top of the chicken meat, place the boiled broccoli florets and cherry tomato halves.
Pour the prepared cream and egg sauce over the casserole and bake for 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F).
After 40 minutes, take the finished casserole out of the oven and serve while it's still hot. Enjoy your meal!
