Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the cottage cheese braid.
Place the cottage cheese, softened butter, and sugar in a blender.

Blend everything at high speed until smooth and add one egg.

Transfer the cottage cheese mixture to a deep bowl and gradually add sifted flour and baking powder.

Gently knead the dough by hand until it is soft and elastic.
Prepare the filling: cut the peeled apples into medium cubes and place them in a bowl.

Add raisins, cinnamon, sugar, and orange zest to the same bowl. If the raisins are dry, soak them in water for a few minutes and pat dry with a cloth towel.

Gently mix all the components with a wooden spoon. The filling is ready.
Roll out the cottage cheese dough into a rectangular flatbread no more than 6-8 mm thick. Spread the flatbread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In the center of the flatbread, leaving 10 cm from the edges, pile the apple filling.
Cut the sides of the flatbread at an angle into strips 2-3 cm wide. Cover the filling with the top part of the flatbread as shown in the photo.
Then alternately cover the remaining filling with the cut strips, overlapping each other.
Whisk the egg yolk and brush the cottage cheese braid with a pastry brush.

Considering the characteristics of your oven, bake the pie for 30-35 minutes at 180-190 degrees Celsius until it has an appetizing crust.
Generously dust the top of the pastry with powdered sugar.
