Russian pelmeni
Do you like homemade russian pelmeni? It's quite difficult to find someone indifferent to this dish. The cooking process is very simple and exciting at the same time.

Ingredients
Dough
- 280 g flour
- ยฝ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 180 ml boiling water
Filling
- 450 g pork
- 1 pc onion
- ยฝ tsp salt
- ยผ tsp pepper
- 50 g water cold
Instructions
- Let’s prepare the necessary ingredients.
- Add salt and sunflower oil to the sifted wheat flour. Mix thoroughly.280 g flour, ยฝ tsp salt, 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Pour in boiling water. Stir the ingredients with a spoon so that the flour is scalded.180 ml boiling water
- When the mixture cools down a bit and becomes a comfortable temperature, gather the dough into a ball.
- Knead the dough on the table for 5 minutes. This will give it a smooth and uniform texture. After that, cover the dough with a bowl and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- In the meantime, let’s prepare the meat filling. Pass the pork and onion through a meat grinder. Add salt, black ground pepper, and cold water. Mix the ingredients together, then beat well.450 g pork, 1 pc onion, ยฝ tsp salt, ยผ tsp pepper, 50 g water
- Divide the rested dough into 4 parts. Form a “sausage” from each. Divide it into 11 parts. Roll out circles. The dough will be very pleasant and obedient to work with. There will be no need to sprinkle additional flour.
- Making dumplings is very simple. Place the filling (less than a teaspoon) in the center of the circle.
- Next, you just need to pinch the edges.
- Finally, connect the ends.
- Drop the dumplings into boiling salted water. Once they float to the top and the water boils again, cook the dumplings for 5-7 minutes. Serve the dish with butter and sour cream. Bon appรฉtit!
