Сzech pork knuckle
Сzech pork knuckle in the oven is a truly royal treat. Today we are cooking according to a Czech recipe. The meat is tender, juicy, with a subtle hop aroma.

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork knuckle
- ½ liter beer dark
- 150 g yellow onion
- 100 g carrot
- 1 pc bay leaf
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp mustard
- 20 ml soy sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 pcs pepper peppercorns
- 600 g cabbage pickled
Instructions
- Prepare everything necessary. Wash the knuckle, scrape the skin with a knife.1.5 kg pork knuckle
- Place in a suitable pot. Also send pieces of carrot, a couple of small onions in husks, salt, bay leaf, peppercorns, garlic.150 g yellow onion, 100 g carrot, 1 pc bay leaf, ½ tsp salt, 4 pcs pepper, 3 cloves garlic
- Pour in the beer. The level of the liquid should reach at least halfway up the knuckle, ideally – the pork is immersed in the beer marinade. Leave for 2-12 hours. Periodically turn it over so that the meat is evenly saturated.½ liter beer
- After the time has passed, put the pot with all its contents on the stove and cook for 1.5 hours. Turn a couple of times. If the liquid evaporates, you can add either beer or water. The criterion of readiness – a bare area of the bone should appear.
- Place the sauerkraut in a baking dish, also send chopped onion. Mix.600 g cabbage, 150 g yellow onion
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, and mustard.1 tsp honey, 20 ml soy sauce, 1 tsp mustard
- Remove the knuckle from the pot and place it on the cabbage. Coat with the prepared mixture.
- Put in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. Coat with the marinade 2-3 times. This will form a golden brown appetizing crust.
- Czech-style pork knuckle baked in beer in the oven is ready.
