  • 150 g bacon
  • 100 g onion
  • 5 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper ground
  • ยผ tsp paprika smoked ground

  • Prepare everything you need. If the bacon is fatty, do not use additional oil, if it is more meaty – there may not be enough fat from it to fry all the components.

  • Heat a frying pan, pour in a little vegetable oil. Put strips of bacon. Optionally, you can fry a few whole pieces, it will look good when serving, and cut some into small pieces, which will be sprinkled directly into the dish. Fry the bacon until crispy.

  • In the same frying pan with the bacon fat, put the onion sliced into petals. Keep until golden brown spots appear.

  • Shred the red cabbage and add it to the onion. Add salt, ground pepper, smoked paprika.

  • Fry, stirring, over medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Then cover with a lid, reduce the heat to a minimum and simmer the dish for a quarter of an hour. Usually, no additional liquid is required, but if necessary, you can add a couple of tablespoons of water. Sprinkle with bacon.
