Fried russian dumplings
Everyone loves dumplings, but this dish is ordinary, everyday. But if you cook the most common dumplings in an unusual way, by frying them in a pan, you get a delicious snack that you can proudly offer to guests. Such dumplings are good with beer and for gatherings with pizza and chips.
Equipment
- 1 frying pan
- 1 tablespoon
- 1 garlic press
- 1 teaspoon
Ingredients
- 300 g dumplings
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 clove garlic
- ¼ tsp herbes de Provence
- 150 ml water
Instructions
- Prepare everything necessary. The dumplings used here are ready-made frozen ones, no need to defrost them.
- Heat the vegetable oil well in a pan. Try to put one dumpling in, it should sizzle. This means the oil temperature is sufficient and you can pour out the rest. If you put the dumplings on a poorly heated pan, they may stick.2 tbsp vegetable oil, 300 g dumplings
- Fry over medium heat for 2 minutes until browned, then flip. Hold for the same amount of time and pour in water. Its level should reach one third of the height of the dumplings.150 ml water
- Cover with a lid, reduce the heat to a minimum and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- The liquid will partially be absorbed by the dumplings and partially evaporate. Add herbes de Provence, salt, and garlic passed through a press. For salt, I recommend trying the dumplings themselves, as store-bought ones are often quite salty.¼ tsp herbes de Provence, 1 clove garlic
- Mix, hold for another minute. Let it stand under the lid for some time so that the flavors of garlic and herbs are better revealed. Fried dumplings are ready. Offer sour cream or any other sauce as an addition.
