Cheesy scalloped potatoes with bacon
Tired of the taste of ordinary boiled or fried potatoes? Then this recipe is perfect for you. Cheesy scalloped potatoes with bacon and apple combines a palette of flavors with a creamy-mustard sauce. The dish simply cannot leave anyone indifferent.

Ingredients
- 350 g potatoes
- 1-2 pcs apple depending on size
- 150 ml cream 20%
- 100 g cheese
- 100 g bacon
- 1 pc onion
- 1 tbsp mustard grain
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 30 g butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- Peel and slice the potatoes into slices about 0.7-1 cm thick.350 g potatoes
- Pour water over the sliced potatoes, add salt, and cook until partially cooked.
- Peel the apples and slice them into rings or half rings, removing the core beforehand. The slicing method depends on the size of the fruits.1-2 pcs apple
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the apple slices on it for 1-2 minutes on each side.30 g butter
- Fry the bacon on both sides without allowing it to become crispy. Then cool each strip slightly and cut it into three pieces crosswise.100 g bacon
- Slice the onion into half rings and fry it in vegetable oil until translucent.1 pc onion, 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Slightly heat the cream, then combine it with finely grated cheese, mustard, and lemon juice. Add salt and mix the sauce.150 ml cream, 100 g cheese, 1 tbsp mustard, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 pinch salt
- Assemble the casserole. In a heat-resistant baking dish, layer the potato slices, alternating them with apple wedges and bacon.
- Cover the assembled casserole with a layer of fried onions.
- Pour the creamy-mustard sauce over the onions and place the casserole in the oven. Bake the dish at a temperature of 200 ยฐC for 30-40 minutes.
- Sprinkle the finished casserole with fresh herbs and serve it while it’s still warm. Enjoy your meal!
