Today for dessert we will bake very soft and fluffy muffins from inexpensive ingredients. For the filling, we will use cherries (frozen or canned berries are suitable off-season). Chocolate cherry muffins prepared according to this recipe will be a wonderful treat for a home tea party or a small family celebration.

  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 tsp coffee ground
  • 20 g cocoa powder
  • 170 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200 g cherry
  • 1 tbsp starch potato or corn


  • Prepare the necessary ingredients.

  • Pour boiling water over ground coffee and leave to cool for 10-15 minutes.

  • In a bowl, combine eggs, granulated sugar, a pinch of salt, and sunflower oil. Beat slightly with a whisk.

  • Add sour cream and coffee (it should be slightly warm). Optionally, coffee in this recipe can be replaced with warm boiled water.

  • Next, introduce dry ingredients — flour, cocoa, and baking powder.

  • Stir with a whisk until smooth. The batter for chocolate muffins is ready.

  • Remove the pit from the cherries and add starch. Mix well.

  • Fill the muffin tins with batter to ⅔.

  • Place 3-4 berries in the center of each muffin, slightly pressing them in.

  • Bake the chocolate muffins with cherries in a preheated 180 °C (356 °F) oven for 25 minutes.
