Strawberry galette

Hardtack biscuits is a dry cookie, and also a wonderful French dessert made of shortcrust dough with a filling of berries or fruits. Rustic careless, but so delicious and beautiful. The dough doesnโ€™t get wet, and the berry juice turns into a soft jelly-like fragrant mass thanks to starch.

  • 1 pinch salt
  • ยฝ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Prepare everything you need.
  • Put cold butter, flour, salt, baking powder in the bowl of a food processor for the shortcrust dough.

  • Scroll to fine crumbs. In the absence of technology, just quickly rub with your hands. Break an egg.

  • Knead a non-sticky buttery dough.
  • Put it in the fridge for half an hour.
  • Roll out into a circle to a thickness of 2 millimeters. You can make it a little thinner from the edges, and thicker in the center. Distribute the corn starch.

  • Wash the strawberries, remove the tails, let the berries dry. Cut arbitrarily, but not too finely. Spread over the dough, leaving a couple of centimeters free from the edge. Pour lemon juice.

  • Sprinkle with sugar.

  • Wrap the dough up, forming folds.
  • Move the pastry into the oven and bake at 170โ„ƒ for 15 minutes. Galette with strawberries is ready. Very tasty, especially if served hot, add a ball of ice cream, which will immediately begin to melt from the heat of the pie.
